Day 118 of Project 365

Guess who is sound asleep in her big girl bed for the first time tonight? She was so excited to see daddy set up this cute little toddler bed in her room tonight and she helped mommy put on the sheets and comforter set that we shopped for yesterday. She cried a little when we said good night but she never got out of bed. I know it has side rails and all but I just hope she doesn't fall out of bed tonight. We'll keep you posted...

Day 117 of Project 365

My beautiful friend Jodi came over to visit today with her little cutie pie, Blake. He is 6 months older than Jenica and they had a good time 'sharing' toys with each other. Of course I couldn't for the life of me get them to look at the camera for me to take a picture, but in their defense it was past their nap time... hence the thumb in Jenica's mouth and the need to have her teddy bear and her baby doll in the picture with her. Jodi is the one who told me about Project 365 almost two years ago and I think she is on her second year doing it. (Thanks Jodi! I'm loving it!)

Jodi and her husband Russell also teach the parenting classes that our church offers. I will try to post more about them sometime because the teaching has really been an invaluable resource to Rob and me! Anyway, thanks for the visit Jodi, you are always a pleasure to spend time with!

Day 115 of Project 365

Rob's mom came over this evening for a late Easter celebration. Here she is with Jenica looking at one of my photo books (I love it when pictures of my photo books make it into my photo book! ha ha). They had fun hiding Easter eggs in the yard, then gathering them up into her Easter basket. We ate a delicious dinner and relaxed in the back yard enjoying the wonderful spring weather.

Day 114 of Project 365

We took a fun family outing to the zoo on Saturday. Jenica loves animals lately, and zebra's are her favorite. She has never been to the zoo or seen zebra's in person but she recognized them right away. It was very cute! So instead of try to pick between cute pictures of Jenica as my photo of the day, I thought a zebra would be a better option. She will be excited to see it in my photo book when I have it printed :)

Day 113 of Project 365

I took pictures of my friends Jessica and Fabrice today and thought I would post a few here so they could have a sneak peak. I don't know how I am going to choose my picture of the day with so many great shots. I actually really like the one of their feet, which I never would have thought to do if Jess hadn't suggested it but it turned out really cool. Would it be weird to have a picture of my friends' feet in my photo book? What do you think?

Day 112 of Project 365

Jenica loves babies! It's really cute how interested and gentle she is with them. My friend Shelly came over today with her little 4 1/2 month old girl, Addison. Who could resist taking pictures of these two little cuties!

Day 111 of Project 365

One of my co-workers husbands made this adorable little kid sized coat rack for Jenica. I just love it! And so does she! It's so fun that she can get her own coats down, and hang them up (well, she hasn't quite got that part down yet but she will!) I'll have to get a better picture of it sometime with out a bunch of coats on it so you can truly see it in all it's adorableness! Thanks Pat!

Day 110 of Project 365

Kids... you just gotta love them! Make sure you look closely at the sign in this picture.  It was, by far, my favorite picture from our little field trip to the Portland Children's Museum today. Judah and Jenica had both been there a few times with their babysitter recently so they basically showed us around. It was really fun! Here's a link to more pictures from our day if you are interested: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=169540&id=516020965&l=84de29a66e

Day 109 of Project 365

One of Jenica's favorite things to do these days is color, so I thought a photo of her crayons would be appropriate. This evening, she asked me to color with her. My initial response was to tell her no, after all, I had dishes to do, laundry to fold, email to check... my list could go on and on. But then I thought, all of that stuff can wait! Even though housework is definitely a part of life, the more important part is spending time with your kids, doing things with them that you wouldn't otherwise do on your own, so even though it felt like sitting there coloring with my daughter was a waste of time, I believe it was actually the farthest thing in the world from that. Today was a good day!

Day 108 of Project 365

Great Sunday at church, fun family shopping trip to Costco, good friends over for dinner, delicious meat smoked to perfection on the Traeger (thanks honey) and an evening of couch time. And the very best part of it all.... I don't have to get up and go to work tomorrow!

Day 107 of Project 365

My first Saturday spent NOT thinking about taxes in a very long time. It was incredibly wonderful and relaxing. First, I got my hair done by my wonderful friend Jessica who was willing to give up her Saturday morning to help me out! I think I had at least 2 inches of grow out and I'm not even exaggerating. Then I surprised my friend Emelye with an afternoon of manicures and pedicures where we even got cute little flowers painted on our toenails! So fun! While we were off being pampered (and Rob was hard at work fixing a leaky roof), Kelly was nice enough to keep Jenica for the day. You can see her kicking back in Hayden's camp chair while she watched a movie and waited for him to wake up from his nap. Next it was off to downtown Portland for dinner and a night at the Oregon Symphony. None of us had been before except Rob but I think I speak for everyone when I say we had a great time! Thanks to everyone who helped make a wonderful day absolutely perfect!

Day 106 of Project 365

I spent the afternoon taking maternity pictures for a wonderful friend of mine, who also happens to be one of the cutest little pregnant girls I've ever seen. We took over 300 pictures and there was hardly a bad one in the bunch! Made it hard to narrow things down, but this was one of our favorites and such a cute idea I thought it should be my picture of the day!

Day 105 of Project 365

Guess what today was folks? April 15th... tax day, so what better to take a picture of than a tax form! To be honest, I would have rather had a picture of all my lovely co-workers but most of them (okay, I could probably honestly say ALL of them) do not like to have their picture taken, so this is it:
I'm so glad to have this "season" behind me and am looking forward to more time with my daughter, nice weather, and cooking for my family again (I know my husband is looking forward to that part as well!) My blog updates should be more interesting now too since I'll actually have time to write a little in the evenings.

Day 97 of Project 365

And I didn't even realize until tonight that I had on khaki's and a sweater too, but mine wasn't striped... must have missed the memo on that one! Anyway, don't they look cute all matchy matchy? Thanks for the picture Kristen. I'm using it as my picture of the day since I was home sick in bed all day and therefor did not take any pictures of my own :(

Day 95 of Project 365

She fell asleep on the couch during her bedtime story... she never does that! Must still be catching up on sleep from the busy weekend.

Day 91 of Project 365

I realized why I don't usually play April Fools jokes... I don't like to disappoint people! Sorry folks, no baby news or house news to report just yet, but it sure was fun to actually pull one over on a few people for once. Usually I am a horrible April Fooler! Anyone else have a fun April Fools story to share?

Day 90 of Project 365

I get asked a lot what Jenica's "new thing" is. Well here you have it:

She throws fits! This was taken after I told her that the smoothy she had been drinking (mine) was all gone and she would have to drink her own. So far, she's actually a pretty mellow fit thrower if I just leave her alone. As you can see here, she just curled up on the kitchen floor and stayed there for a minute or two, then she was done. That's not usually the case if I have to move her somewhere. Then I get all kinds of fun kicking and screaming and whatever other expressions of discontent she can muster up. But even through the emerging attitude and will of the little person she is becoming, she is still an angel in her mother's eyes and I love her more than ever!
